        Michelangeli's recording is one of most important events in
DG history but to my surprise was never released on CD. The Philips
CD  is  a  demonstration quality digital recording  and  Davidovich
performance is pure gold.

     Concerto No.2 in f for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 21

        Both Russians shows more affinity with the Polish composer,
and  although not being together, their partners did a good job  in
this successful work.

     Scherzos (4) Op. 20, 31, 39, 54

        Michelangeli (No.2) + Ballade (No.1) + Etc. (LP) DG 2530236

        Ashkenazy received from Decca  the finest piano sound,  and
his performance of these pieces is among the best I heard.
